Site: Potable Water-Deck 11 Galley
Violation: There was a constant drip at the intermediate vent of the reduced pressure zone backflow preventer for the hood cleaning system.
Recommendation:Ensure that backflow preventers are maintained in good repair.
Site: Potable Water-Cross-Connection Control Program
Violation: The backflow prevention devices for the coffee machines were not listed on the program. According to staff, the list is in the process of being updated.
Recommendation:Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.
Site: Potable Water-Minerlizer Backwash
Violation: The air gap for the mineralizer backwash drainage could not be located during the inspection.
Recommendation:Ensure that backflow prevention devices/methods are located so they may be inspected, serviced, and maintained.
