National Latino AIDS Awareness Day Is October 15
Next Monday will mark the fifth annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). "Wake Up! Take Control! Take the HIV Test!" is this year's theme, which emphasizes the importance of HIV testing, prevention, education, research, treatment, and raising HIV/AIDS awareness in the Latino community.
CDC Releases New Report on HIV/AIDS Among Hispanics
On October 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a new Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report featuring facts and statistics on HIV in the Hispanic community.
HRSA HAB to Hold National Conference Call on Oral Health and HIV
The Health Resources Services Administration HIV/AIDS Bureau (HRSA HAB) announced this week that it will host a National Technical Assistance (TA) Call on October 25 that will focus on oral health and HIV care. Speakers will include both members of the Ryan White community and experts in oral care for HIV-infected people. Specific topics will include easing entry to dental services, provider training, and service delivery models, among others. Call participants will be given an opportunity to ask questions. The registration deadline is October 22.
