Brochures | Maps | Commercial Maps | Topo Maps Brochures: The table below shows maps and brochures that are free and may be requested by going to the map order form (pdf file).
Maps: The maps shown in the table below cost from $9.00 to $11.00. To order, use the order form (pdf).
Another map source is www.sheltoweetrace.com, a commercial site that depicts each mile of the Sheltowee Trace and connecting trails. An interactive map provides mile markers and topo downloads. OutrageGIS.com creates topographic maps for outdoor recreation. The maps cover destinations in Kentucky (Shetlowee Trace and Red River Gorge) and Tennessee. These maps have GPS mapped trails, elevation contours, aerial photography and GPS grids. The forest is divided into three sections, north, central and south. Each topographical map has a name and number. Use the name and number when you order these maps using the map order form (pdf). Below are the indices for these three sections. If you are not sure which topo map you need, call the district office and they'll help you. Or you can click on a link in the charts below to a low-resolution pdf file of the topo map to make sure it's the one you want to order. These files pdf files are for reference only, not for determination of forest or private ownership boundaries. It's critical to avoid trespassing onto private property. Be sure to note forest boundary markers on trees. The Daniel Boone National Forest only stocks topographical maps that are within our proclamation boundary. For other Kentucky topographical maps, please contact the Kentucky Geological Survey, 228 Mining and Mineral Resources Building, University of Kentucky Lexington, Kentucky 40506-0107 Tel: (859) 257-5500.
