Site: Potable Water-Bosun Store Room
Violation: The small diameter potable water lines supplying the sink were not painted or striped blue.
Recommendation:Paint or stripe the potable line blue.
Site: Potable Water-
Violation: The comprehensive cross-connection control program listed Watts 009 at the warewash pulper systems. These devices were not installed. The only protection at these locations was for the hot potable water lines supplying the pulper systems. The listing did not include the potable water connections that supplied the galley warewash detergent dispensers. The listing showed Watts N9 devices on the potable lines supplying the engine change room laundry machine. Non-continuous pressure Oras devices were installed. While the listing showed potable water connections for plumbing devices it, did not show the total number of these connections when there was more than one.
Recommendation:Ensure that a continuous pressure-type backflow preventer is installed when a valve is located downstream from the backflow preventer.

Recommendation:Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.
