Item No.: 08
Site: Swimming Pool-Pump Room
Violation: The recirculation and seawater lines were labeled as potable water.
Recommendation:Remove the potable water label or add a secondary color to the potable water label.
Site: Potable Water-Cross-connection Control Program
Violation: The cross-connection control program did not list the connections for the chemical dispensers or air gaps. The list stated that Watts B.64 were used as backflow prevention devices at several areas. This backflow prevention device was actually a Watts N9.
Recommendation:Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.
Site: Potable Water-Engine Room
Violation: The chlorine injection point for bunkering/production was less than 3 meters from the sample point for bunkering/production.
Recommendation:Ensure that water samples for halogen testing are obtained from a sample cock located on the bunker or production water line at least 3 m (10 feet) after the halogen injection point and before the storage tank.
