Acknowledgement

The NHANES Web tutorial was developed jointly by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). It truly was a collaborative effort, with contributions made from analysts, information technology specialists, instructional designers, science writers, and programmers from both agencies. The core members of the tutorial team came from the Division of Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) at NCHS, and the Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch at NCI. The Operations Research Office at NCI provided invaluable support for the usability testing of the tutorial. The Software Solutions and Engineering staff, and Office of Information Services staff at NCHS provided critical assistance in the software and graphic design of the tutorial. In addition, we would like to acknowledge the valuable assistance in reviewing all Stata codes and presentation by members from the Center for Medicine, Media and the Public at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, and the VA Outcomes Group, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, White River Junction, Vermont.
