Contracting

To contact the Contracting Office:

Phone: (231) 775-2421
Address: 1755 S. Mitchell St
Cadillac, MI 49601

Many projects we do use contracting to provide a variety of services needed for completing a project. For building projects, such as bridges, roads, and facilities, and timber activities, the National Forest Service will go through a bidding process to determine who will recieve the contract.

Recently there have been changes in the way the Forest Service does business with contractors and vendors. These changes have impacted how award information is made available for review, a faster method for payments, and a greater use of Internet and electronic functions.

The Huron-Manistee National Forest is part of the Lake States Acquisition Team. The Lake States Acquisition Team provides shared services for contracting and acquisition to the:

Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest,

Hiawatha National Forest,

Huron-Manistee National Forest

Ottawa National Forest

What a Contractor Needs to Know

Federal Acquisition Regulations require that all contractors be registered to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to the award of any contract or agreement.

To electronically access pre-solicitation notices, project packages, and award notices go to the Federal Business Oportunities web page.

For information on how to contact the Lake States Acquisition Team please follow the link that will take you to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Lake States Acquisition Team web page.
