eRA Commons Alert – Performance Issues

March 8, 2006
You may have experienced slow performance in the eRA Commons over the last two weeks. We have been working hard to identify and address the underlying causes for the performance issues. The eRA system comprises numerous applications, all of which access a central database. The system issues uncovered to date have been linked to database processes unrelated to electronic submission. We fully understand the impact slow system response has on our eRA Commons users, especially those navigating the new electronic submission process. We have already made a number of system changes that have improved performance and have plans in place for additional improvements over the next few days. At this point, however, we are still experiencing significant performance issues, especially during times of high usage.

We appreciate your patience as we make the changes necessary to restore performance.
