For our border health issue, we present the theme of bridging the gap between two cultures to address health concerns specific to border communities. The bridge portrayed in the cover image shows a woman welcoming a group from one side to the other, symbolizing the importance of reaching out to groups in underserved communities. The lush green foreground and the urban cityscape represent two cultures whose borders are bridged by the common needs of their residents. Children are another dimension of this inclusiveness: healthy children become healthy adults, and interventions in public health now may mean improved quality of life in the future for residents of these unique communities.
