HHS Assistant Secretary for Aging Josefina G. Carbonell will address the 33rd Annual Conference and Tradeshow of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Background:
Assistant Secretary Carbonell has, for the past seven years, led the National Aging Services Network to modernize community-based long term care and provide greater assurances that older Americans will maintain their independence in the community longer than ever before.  Her remarks will focus on this exciting new direction for the aging network, as well efforts being made at the federal, state and local level to prepare for the aging of the baby boomers.
