Genes: The Ultimate Survivors - Implications of the New State of Genetic Testing for Laboratory Practice

CDC & National Laboratory Training Network (NLTN) initiated.
 
Goal(s):
   The aim of this one day course was to raise awareness regarding the implications of genetic testing for laboratory practice. Topics discussed included technology, laboratory practice, ethical, legal, and social implications, translating research findings to practice, and a glimpse into the laboratory of the future.
 
Model: Classroom lectures by experts in the field.
Target audience:
Laboratory managers, supervisors, and scientists from all laboratory disciplines.
 
Progress: Completed February 2, 2001
  
Outcome:
   Well received, plans for additional courses.
