using genetics in clinical practice. The program highlights a team
approach that integrates clinical, counseling, and laboratory services

using broadband internet and satellite delivery

This will be an interactive multimedia program
using the "virtual clinic" - an educational tool that simulates
interactions between patients and physicians facing genetic issues.

Target audience: |
|
This program is primarily aimed toward health
care providers who are not specialists in medical genetics, but who may
see patients with disorders - or who have concerns about disorders - in
which knowledge of clinical genetics can positively affect outcomes. Other
audiences include students, genetic counselors, medical laboratory
professionals, public health professional, and others who are involved in
the offering of genetic testing services.

Ongoing. A beta version will be completed by 2002. Contents will include several
interactive patient vignettes, counseling sessions, laboratory tours, and
a resource section.
