GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Major General Claudia J. Kennedy, United States Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, United States Army, Washington, D.C. Since July 1995, she has served as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, United States Army, Washington, D.C. Major General Kennedy was born on July 14, 1947, in Frankfurt, Germany.
