TelNPS Broadcast
July 16, 2008 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Eastern
Working with curriculum standards, education terms and the culture of formal education varies significantly from the interactions and duties of an interpretive ranger. Developing an interpretive program to promote cultural resource stewardship while also supporting the needs of learners typically engaged in a structured learning environment can be daunting to even the best field educator. This hour-long broadcast will identify methods for Park Service Interpreters to gain greater access and participation from K-12 learners. The course will address the three most critical issues to develop relationships with local teachers, adherence to state standards and monitoring of national trends.
