Abstract:

This report addresses the relationship between alcohol consumption during early adulthood, and adverse employment outcomes due to fewer opportunities for corrective intervention in rural areas. It compares early drinking behaviors and employment impact between rural and urban residents; and provides recommendations for prevention, treatment, intervention, and future research. The report includes tables, references and appendices.
