Abstract:

This report addresses problems with health insurance coverage for the rural and urban near elderly (individuals aged 55–64 ). It presents findings and data from the 1996–1998 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, which was conducted by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. It includes information on prior studies, summary and policy implications, and references.
