Welcome to the official web site for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. This site is designed to provide convenient and easy access to information about the court and its operations.

The District of Connecticut has 8 active judges, 7 senior judges and 5 magistrate judges. Court proceedings take place in Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven.

The Court publishes information on this website to assist the public and the Bar in conducting business with the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. New and noteworthy information is available by clicking onto the various navigational options. Please note that in addition to the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Court’s Local Rules govern the conduct of all actions filed in this Federal Court.

The District of Connecticut has implemented Electronic Case Filing (ECF) and publishes the Electronic Case Filing Rules and Instructions to assist the bar. Documents filed in ECF cases must be filed electronically and will not be accepted in paper form, unless authorized. For more information, please visit the CM/ECF web site or contact the Solution Center at (203) 773-2206. For assistance in filing non-ECF cases, contact the Clerk's Office.
