Background
Kurt Gores joined NOAA in 1972 and served as a NOAA Corps commissioned officer for over 20 years. He was assigned to various shipboard, headquarters, and line office assignments, including research on Pacific salmon, pandalid shrimp, and sablefish. He started working for the FE division at NWFSC in 1991. Kurt received a B.S. in fishery biology from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from City University.

Current Research
Kurt's current activities include coordinating the preparation and review of Endangered Species Act (ESA) research permits and consultation requests, state scientific collection permits and associated reports, along with other ESA-related documents. He is also responsible for day-to-day management and direction of FE's administrative operations.
