Trenton , NJ – (December 8, 2008) – Today, lucky New Jersey Lottery players will welcome the debut of the Lottery's new “Jersey Jackpot Raffle.” Only 500,000 tickets for this exciting raffle game will be sold, and three lucky top-prize winners will start 2009 off in style with an extra $2,000,000 after the drawing on January 21, 2009. But with double the prizes of any previous raffle, there are sure to be even more happy winners in the Garden State this winter!
With only a half-million tickets being sold, this game will offer players more than 1,200 prizes ranging from $250 to $100,000—and that's on top of the three $2 million annuity prizes waiting to be won. With such a limited number of available tickets, the Lottery's “Jersey Jackpot Raffle” is anticipated to be one of the quickest-selling—and hottest—tickets available throughout the holiday season.
Each “Jersey Jackpot Raffle” ticket costs $20 and, when it is purchased, the Lottery's “Green Machine” will issue a ticket with a unique six (6)-digit raffle number printed on it. There will be no duplicate raffle numbers, and players cannot pick their own raffle numbers. Tickets for this game cannot be cancelled.
Winning raffle ticket numbers will be drawn at Lottery Headquarters on January 21, 2009, and will not be drawn during the New Jersey Network's live televised broadcast. The Lottery will, however, announce the three winning $2,000,000 ticket numbers during our regularly televised nightly drawing. Following the drawing, those three ticket numbers—and all the winning ticket numbers—will be available at the New Jersey Lottery's website at www.njlottery.net . Players will also find results at New Jersey Lottery retailers, through special e-mails to our VIP Club members, and through the Lottery's Customer Service hotline at 1-800-222-0996.
