DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Bindley Cardinal Drug Co., Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded an estimated value of $156,242,623 firm-fixed-price contract for Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor Central Region 1 for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This primary contract includes a base period plus two 20-month options. Work is expected to be completed June 30, 2003. Contract funds for this award will expire this fiscal year with fiscal year 2002 stock funds. There were 87 proposals solicited, and eight responded. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0200-00-D-7047).

Propper International Inc., Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, is being awarded a $13,666,968 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity/delivery-type contract for temperate, woodland camouflage Type I trousers for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This contract is under its fourth year option. Work will be performed in various cities in Puerto Rico. Work is expected to be completed by March 25, 2003. Contract funds will expire under the current fiscal year. There were 42 proposals solicited, and five responded. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0100-97-D-0302).

Dakota Drug Inc.*, Minot, N.D., is being awarded a $6,590,000 firm-fixed-price with requirements type contract for Pharmaceutical Price Vendor Central Region 2 for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This primary contract includes a base 20-month period plus two 20-month options. Work is expected to be completed June 30, 2003. NAVY

Raytheon Technical Services Co., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $58,998,134 modification to a previously awarded fixed-price-award-fee contract (N61339-00-D-0001) to exercise an option for life cycle contractor support services for tactical engagement, instrumentation and ranges training devices and systems supported by the U.S. Army Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command. Work will be performed at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif. (59%); Combat Maneuver Training Center, Hohenfels, Germany (17%); Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, La. (7%); and various worldwide locations (17%) and is expected to be completed in October 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Electronic Systems, Portsmouth, R.I., is being awarded an $8,954,031 modification previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00024-99-C-5460) to exercise an option for engineering development of ordnance alteration (ORDALT) kits for the MK 73 MOD 3 transmitter and fabrication of 14 MK 73 MOD 3 transmitter ORDALT kits. Work will be performed in Canada (55%); Andover, Mass. (28%); Sudbury, Mass. (12%); and Portsmouth, R.I. (5%), and is expected to be completed by November 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Veridian Engineering Inc., Buffalo, N.Y., is being awarded a $43,720,000 indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract to provide for the Simulation-Base Technology Assessment Program. This contract will also provide for research and development to support the integration of technologies into the air vehicle and to support the development and use of simulation-based research and development. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be complete October 2010. Solicitation was posted via a program research and development announcement in May 2001, and three proposals were received. Negotiations were completed October 2001. The contractor will perform this effort at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-01-D-3105).

Boeing Space and Communications, Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a $27,686,851 option to provide for the following in support for the Radar System Improvement Program for the Air Force's Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft: four Group A and B radar kits and four Group A and B in-flight maintenance spares. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. The work is expected to be complete December 2005. This effort will be performed at Northrop Grumman Corp., Baltimore, Md. (75%), and Boeing Space and Communications, Seattle, Wash. (25%). The Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity (F19628-99-C-0042, P00008).

Sverdrup Technology Inc., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $14,600,000 (maximum) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quality contract to provide for Research and Evaluation of Automatic Target Recognition and Sensor Fusion Systems (REASON). The objective of the REASON Program is design, develop, model, test, implement and execute innovative performance evaluation methodologies for the assessment and characterization of sensor exploitation technologies in support of Air Force research. At this time, $3,605,022 of the funds has been obligated. This work will be complete October 2008. Solicitation was posted via a program research and development announcement in February 2001, and three proposals were received. Negotiations were completed October 2001. The contractor will perform this effort at their facility in Beavercreek, Ohio. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-01-D-1986).

ARMY

Simula Safety Systems Inc., Phoenix, Ariz., was awarded on Oct. 18, 2001, a $1,997,109 delivery order amount as part of a $42,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for an initial order of 5,306 U.S. Marine Corps small arms protective inserts, with delivery orders for up to 115,000 additional small arms protective inserts to follow. Work will be performed in Tempe, Ariz., and completion is expected by Oct. 16, 2004. Of the total contract funds, $1,997,109 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 2, 2001. The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick, Mass., is the contracting activity (DAAD16-02-D-0001).

Gear Wizard Inc.*, Palos Hills, Ill., is being awarded an $884,229 delivery order amount as part of an $18,561,735 firm-fixed-price contract for the transfer of 456 transmissions. Work will be performed in Palos Hills, Ill., and completion is expected by Oct. 31, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on April 5, 2001, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-01-D-S076).
