, provides Department of Defense-oriented news, features and photographs.
The press service, formerly available only to DoD public affairs officers
and editors of military publications, is now open worldwide to DOD service
members and civilians, their families and the general public.
AFPS is produced by American Forces Information Service, the internal
information arm of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Public Affairs. In addition to the clicking on the URL listed above, AFPS
can also be accessed by visiting the DEFENSELink home page, clicking on
News, then clicking on the highlighted "American Forces Press Service"
text.
