The Department of Defense today announced that the next scheduled ThrustProgram procurement conference, which will focus on management informationsystems/simulation, will be hosted by the Department of the Navy's Small andDisadvantaged Business Office, on May 21-22, 1996 at the Radisson Suite Hotelat River Ridge, Oxnard, Calif.
This is the third of five Thrust Program procurement conferences to be held inthe upcoming months, each focusing on a different program area.
The workshopsare designed to attract small and disadvantaged businesses into the Defenseindustrial base.
Besides the management information systems/simulation inCalifornia, other subject areas and venues for future conferences include:manufacturing (Chicago, Ill.) in June; and health care (San Antonio, Texas) inJuly.
Each conference agenda will feature a series of workshops led by technical andcontracting officials from various participating agencies.
Additional aspectsof each conference will include an overview of acquisition and regulatoryreform; DoD progress towards a paperless contracting environment; and SmallBusiness Innovation Research Program opportunities.
