GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. Gregory S. Martin for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as commander, Air Forces Central Europe, North Atlantic Treaty Organization; commander, United States Air Forces in Europe; and Air Force Component Commander, United States European Command, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Martin is currently assigned as principal deputy Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
