Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.
Three briefings are scheduled today in the Pentagon briefing room, 2E781:
- At 10 a.m., Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Frank Kramer will conduct a briefing concerning DoD views on the future of NATO-European Union defense planning. See the advisory for details.
- Immediately following Assistant Secretary Kramer's briefing, about 10:30 a.m., a senior Defense official will conduct a background briefing on Secretary of Defense Cohen's upcoming visit to South America. See the advisory for details.
- At 1 p.m., Lt. Gen. Fred McCorkle, deputy chief of staff for Marine Corps aviation, and Marine Corps Col. Nolan Schmidt, V-22 program manager, will present the results of the V-22 Osprey operational evaluation. See the advisory for details.
