Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lieutenant General Malcolm B. Armstrong, United States Air Force, for
advancement on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general. General
Armstrong is currently serving as Commander, Twenty-First Air Force, Air
Mobility Command, McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey.
General Armstrong was born November 3, 1941, in Jones, Louisiana.
