ARMY

United Defense, L.P., Steel Products Division, Anniston, Alabama, is being awarded a $6,866,425 modification to a firm fixed price and cost plus fixed fee contract for the repair/overhaul of 128 M113A2 Armored Personnel Carriers and conversion of same to M113A3 Armored Personnel Carriers; and repair/overhaul of 52 M577A2 Command Post Carriers and conversion of same to M577A3 Command Post Carriers. Work will be performed in Anniston, Alabama, and is expected to be completed by November 29, 1996. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on February 5, 1993. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Command, Warren, Michigan (DAAE07-93-C-A018).

NAVY

Seaward Marine Services, Inc., Fairfax, Virginia, is being awarded a $9,851,158 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to clean all forms of marine growth and other fouling from the hulls and running gear of U.S. Navy and other military ships on a recurring basis. This contract also contains related underwater ship repair and inspection. This contract contains four option years, which if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of the contract to $50,251,165. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia (62.6%), San Diego, California (26%), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (7%), and various locations overseas (4.4%). Contract funds in the amount of $100,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 62 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-95-D-4208).

Bethlehem Steel Corporation, BethShip Sparrows Point Yard, Sparrow Point, Maryland, is being awarded a $20,455,171 firm-fixed-price contract for the modification and renovation of the amphibious cargo ships ex-USS El Paso (LKA 117) and ex-USS Mobile (LKA 115). Upon leaving the Navy's inactive ship maintenance facilities, Mobile and El Paso will become part of Page 2 - Contracts (Navy con't) 9/18/95

the Military Sealift Command's inventory, will be crewed by civilian mariners, and will transport U.S. Marine Corps tactical equipment and cargo. This contract contains options, which if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of the contract to $26,400,000. Work will be performed at Sparrows Point Yard, Maryland, and is expected to be completed by November 1996. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 55 proposals solicited and six offer received. The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command, Central Technical Activity, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N62381-95-C-0230).
