  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Fishing
Fishing is popular all year long on the reservoir and below the dam. The reservoir usually freezes sometime in December, ending the hunting, but fishing continues once the ice is thick enough.

Hunting
Limited sport hunting for waterfowl and small game is allowed in designated areas in accordance with Idaho, Federal, and special refuge regulations.

Wildlife Observation
There is a short paved trail in the park and a longer gravel trail at the east side of the boat ramp. Foot access is allowed any time throughout the refuge. A bird list is available from the refuge manager.

Hours
The refuge is open during daylight hours only (except for camping in the campground). The refuge office is staffed, but may be closed while personnel are in the field.
