REVISED PROJECTIONSLOCAL EMPLOYER PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS
for State Fiscal Year Ending 2009

Linked below are revised estimated pension bills which reflect Governor Corzine's proposal (PDF 52K) to provide a measure of property tax relief through reduced pension contributions.  The reduction of actual bill amounts, due and payable April 1, 2009, is contingent upon enactment of enabling legislation.

The total amount required reflects pension costs as well as the employer's share of non-contributory group life insurance (NCGLI) contributions. When developing the reduced payment amounts, NCGLI amounts are first subtracted from the total. Then the remainder is multiplied by 50% to arrive at the reduced pension contribution. The total amount due under the Governor's proposal represents 50% of pension contributions as well as the employer's share of NCGLI. Also, the proposed billing does not include any early retirement incentive costs due and payable April 1, 2009 because those amounts are not impacted by the Governor's proposal.
