Keep work surfaces and shelves clean by wiping down with a wet sponge.
Clean up spills when they occur. Do not allow to dry.
Work on a newspaper or paper towel for easy cleanup and disposal.
Do not smoke, eat or drink when working with hazardous ceramic materials.
Wash your hands thoroughly when you are through working.
Use a smock when working with ceramic materials.

Keep children away from kilns and out of glaze dipping rooms.
Children should not use lead-containing glazes or other hazardous ceramic materials.
Do not mix lead-containing food-safe glazes.
If pregnant or contemplating pregnancy, tell your physician about your work with ceramics.

Frit contains Lead. Crystalline Silica may also be present.
Route(s) of Entry: Ingestion, absorption through the skin is negligible.
Inhalation only if sprayed.

If glaze is spray applied the following warnings apply:
1. Possible cancer agent based on tests with laboratory animals.
2. Exposure may cause lung damage.
Keep out of reach of children; avoid inhalation.
Chronic Health Effects: From MSDS
PROLONGED OR REPEATED INHALATION OR INGESTION of lead containing frit may result in lead poisoning. Prolonged inhalation of silica, in excess of TLV, over an extended period of time may result in damage to the lungs.
Carcinogenicity: From MSDS
Carcinogenicity -
In IARC Supplement 7, inorganic lead compounds are given a 2B rating. This indicates "sufficient evidence" for Carcinogenicity in animals and "inadequate evidence" for Carcinogenicity to humans.

Additional information: Frits are fused silica glass like substances. The bioavailability may be limited because of the physical nature of the frit.

FOLLOW LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS FOR DISPOSAL. LEAD IS LISTED IN US EPA CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS 40. TESTING OF THE WASTE MAY BE REQUIRED TO DETERMINE STATUS UNDER THE WASTE REGULATIONS.
