Cumberland Falls State Resort Park Imagine a wall of water falling 60 feet into a boulder-strewn gorge, a whispering mist that kisses the face and a magical moonbow visible on a clear night under a full moon.

The Dupont Lodge

 The solid hemlock beams and knotty pine paneling complement the massive stone fireplaces in historic DuPont Lodge. Fifty-one rooms offer beautiful views and full amenities including interior corridors. All rooms totally renovated in 2006. Relax on the beautiful, large observation deck overlooking the Cumberland River winding thru the hillside. It provides a spectacular spot for a wedding. Open year-round.  AAA 3-Diamond rating.  Rooms are available by late afternoon. Check-out by noon, Eastern Time.  Pets are not allowed (with the exception of service dogs).

Woodland Rooms

Cumberland Falls has special accommodations adjacent to the lodge that offer the privacy of cottages. Larger than a lodge room offering a wet bar, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, small porch and outdoor grill. Perfect if you want an adjoining room, reserve two and open the connecting door. Woodland Rooms are available by late afternoon. Check-out by 11:00 AM, Eastern Time. Pets are not allowed (with the exception of service dogs).

Cottages

The one and two-bedroom cottages have unique appeal. Most cottages have fireplaces. Furnished with all the comforts of home…kitchen is supplied with full-sized appliances and coffee pot, flatware, cookware, dish ware. Bedrooms are supplied with all linens. Two bedroom also has two full bathrooms. Enjoy your porch or patio with grill. Daily maid service is available only upon request. Fresh terry/linens are provided daily.

Riverview Restaurant

 Enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking the Cumberland River as it winds through the hillside while dining. The food is as outstanding as the view. Specialties include our famous catfish and hushpuppies as well as healthy wraps and salads. Homemade desserts top it off. As a supporter of Kentucky Proud program we utilize locally grown meats and produce when available.

Camping

Enjoy the great outdoors in the campground, featuring 50 campsites with electric and water hookups. The campground has a central service building with showers and rest rooms, a grocery, and a dump station. Pets are allowed if restrained. Closed for season from mid-November to mid-March.

Gift Shop
Visit the gift shop, which features a large selection of Kentucky handcrafts.
Snack shop is open April 1 - October 31. Gift Shop and Visitor’s Center open year-round.

Visitor's Center
The new Visitor’s Center is expected to be the first stop in a visitor’s encounter with the falls area. Inside the center, a three-dimensional relief map outlines major park facilities. Other exhibits show the area’s geology and history and illustrate Native American life. Another display advises visitors how to stay safe in the park, such as staying within the barrier at the falls, avoiding cliffs, and refraining from wading in the river. The center also offers the opportunity to learn about the history of Cumberland Falls.

Planned Recreation
Your family can enjoy year-round, interpretive programs focusing on native plants, animals, and local history under direction of a full-time recreation specialist. Daily summer activities are conducted by seasonal recreation staff.

Recreational Activities
Enjoy tennis, horseshoes or shuffleboard on the outdoor courts near the Woodland Rooms. Overnight guests may check-out sports equipment.

Picnicking & Playgrounds
The picnic area with tables, grills and playgrounds is ideal for family outings. A picnic shelter (without rest rooms) offers tables, grills, water, and electric; it may be reserved for rental up to one year in advance.

Guided rafting trips are offered on the Cumberland River. The park arranges the trips through www.Ky-rafting.com Daily; May - October depending on water levels. Fee is charged. Call 800-541-RAFT (7238).

Enjoy fishing in the Cumberland River, where there is an abundance of bass, catfish, panfish, and roughfish.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is the perfect destination to introduce the family to the thrill of horseback riding. The park offers guided trail rides that are easy enough for the first timer and still adventurous for the more experienced. Riders, age 6 and up will enjoy a 45-minute ride through an eastern Kentucky forest, beautiful in any season. The stables open weekends in May and are daily after Memorial Weekend until Labor Day. Also open on weekends during Sept. and Oct. Rides start on the hour from 10am to 6 pm. Cost is $15.00 per person. Personal horses are not permitted on the trails at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, but there are several opportunities to do so in the surrounding area. There are many miles of trails and several horse camps in the nearby Daniel Boone National Forest and The Big South Fork National River and Recreation area.

Cumberland Falls is a hiker’s paradise with 17 miles of hiking trails that wind through the park to scenic areas. The Moonbow Trail connects with many backpacking trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Trail Information


Moonbow

Cool off on a hot summer day with a dip in an Olympic-size pool. Pool is short distance from Lodge and Woodland Rooms. Use of pool is free to lodge and cottage guests.
Fee for the public : $3.50 Adult (13 & older), $3.00 child 3-12, free for child 2 and under.
Open Memorial Day - August 31st.
