Rural Ambulance Service: Budget Model

This budgeting and financial management model is designed to improve fiscal management for rural ambulance services in the challenging realm of out of hospital care. It enables entry of financial information into a preprogrammed spreadsheet that automatically calculates a monthly budget versus actual results. The tool includes a financial chart of accounts applicable to a rural EMS agency; a tool to assist in tracking operating budgets and establishing fee schedules; and instructions on using the budgeting tool with common “off the shelf’ accounting software. It also includes a figure, tables, and references.
