Abstract:

This report analyzes the early development of the Caribbean HIV Evaluation Support (CHIVES) study and implementation and evaluation of the targeted peer support model among HIV-positive Caribbean immigrants residing in the United States. It assesses the Caribbean immigrants’ knowledge of HIV infection, their understanding of HIV treatment options and service delivery system, and their timely use of appropriate HIV medical care and services. The report provides essential information for the future replication of interventions and includes figures and tables.
