As part of a pilot project, the DOT Library (OST) and the National Transportation Library (RITA) will work collaboratively to improve the accessibility to and ease of use of transportation information with a particular emphasis on transportation research information. The objective is to develop synergies in areas of mutual interests such as research and interlibrary loans, web pages and IT projects, and cataloging and thesaurus building. The expected result is that the needs of both internal and external customers will be met in a more efficient and effective manner.
