 Kent Klein - Washington

Kent Klein is a VOA Correspondent, based in Washington, D.C.

Kent has been with VOA since 1992, primarily as a newscaster and anchor, on radio and television. He has hosted coverage of numerous major news events, including the 2004 U.S. political conventions, congressional hearings into the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal, Secretary of State Colin Powell’s 2003 speech before the United Nations Security Council, and the 2000 presidential debates, among others.

Kent hosted VOA News Now for 10 years, starting with its first broadcast in 1998. From 1995 to 1998, Kent hosted the South Asia edition of VOA Today.

Before joining VOA, Kent worked as a news reporter, anchor and talk program host at several radio stations in Maryland and Delaware. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University, and also attended Kent State University.
