URL:

http://www.isworld.org/

Description:

IS World Net is an information systems (IS) collaboration among Baylor University (Waco, Texas, USA), University College (Dublin, Ireland), and the University of Melbourne (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia). The goal of IS World Net is "to provide information management scholars and practitioners with a development of an international information infrastructure that will dramatically improve the world's ability to use information systems for creating, disseminating, and applying knowledge." Of particular interest to researchers is the portion of the site dedicated to the Research and Scholarship Division of IS World.

Types of Information or Instruments:

In addition to surveys about user satisfaction and task-technology fit, the site also provides a sample consent form. No descriptive information about the surveys is provided.

Quantity of Instruments:

Six instruments are available. Select "Instruments" on the menu to go to the page where they may be found.

Quality of Instrument Descriptions:

The instruments are not described. Only the instrument names are provided.

Quality of Psychometric Information:

There is no psychometric information available on the site. However, each instrument is accompanied by a journal citation that may lead the interested reader to further information elsewhere.

Scale accessibility:

Site provides actual scale items:

The site does provide actual scale items, and they are in HTML format.

User-friendly navigation:

The navigation is easy.

Other types of Information:

Select "Discussion" from the main menu. There are several links to pages on measurement theory and instrumentation issues, such as reliability and validity. A tutorial on survey research is also available. The presentation of these topics is intended for a general audience; the material is not contextually related to IS.

Hints:

This site is closely associated with Peter Newsted's site for IS survey instruments, which contains information on about 300 surveys.
