Chairman appoints Steven Glazer Administrative Law Judge

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Joseph T. Kelliher has appointed Steven A. Glazer as a Commission Administrative Law Judge.

“We are very pleased to welcome Judge Glazer to the Commission. The depth and breadth of his extensive legal experience will be a great asset, not only to the Commission but to those involved in contested proceedings before us,” Chairman Kelliher said.

Judge Glazer most recently served as an Administrative Law Judge at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to that he was an investigative attorney and attorney-advisor with the U.S. International Trade Commission from 1991 through 2005, where his cases involved intellectual property rights and international trade.

For more than a decade prior to that, Judge Glazer was an attorney in private practice where he provided counsel on energy, antitrust, communications and real estate matters. In the late 1970s, he was an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy where he focused on oil price and allocation issues.

Judge Glazer received his law degree from New York University School of Law. He was Senior Writing Editor of the New York University Law School Moot Court Board. He received undergraduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Economics and Civil Engineering. He is admitted to the bars of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the District of Columbia.

He is married to Phyllis Ann Glazer and has a daughter, Jordan Diane Glazer, age 13.
