Imaging and Publishing Support (IPS) is looking for a highly motivated, bright, positive, resourceful individual to work in our Press department. If you enjoy being part of a high-performance workforce that takes pride in their work and boasts teamwork and customer service, IPS is for you. IPS provides a full range of traditional and digital printing and multimedia publications to the CIA's intelligence production and dissemination mission.

The Press section, which is part of IPS's Printing Services Center, offers high volume, high quality, color and black and white classified and unclassified printing services to the CIA and the Intelligence Community. The Press section operates on a 2-shift work schedule, 5 days a week. The successful candidate will serve as a member of this dynamic multi-skilled team and be responsible for producing numerous publications.

The successful candidate will operate primarily multi-unit presses -- 40" four-color, 40" five-color, 40” two-color, 29” two-color, and a Halm Jet press. Work within this center is performed in a fast-paced, team environment. Pressman must be willing to change shifts and work overtime when required. The work environment may require some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching or stretching; and lifting of moderately heavy materials. Work is primarily performed within a printing plant environment.


Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, as well as three years of relevant work experience.  Applicants need to have a working knowledge of plant prepress and bindery methods, capabilities, and workflow processes.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
