Careers at CIA

Logistics Officer - Operational

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $47,912 – $69,764
Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area

Logistics offers the unique opportunity to work with an accomplished, diverse team, providing a full range of operational logistical support across the country and overseas. The work includes providing operational logistical support and managing the overall logistic processes in support of our customers' mission objectives; leveraging existing networks and expanding others; anticipating mission needs and operational requirements and offering alternatives and advice; and evaluating, redesigning and implementing logistics processes for mission support. A career as an operational logistics officer requires a commitment to serve wherever the mission requires -- including worldwide deployment to sometimes harsh and dangerous environments. Throughout your career you must maintain an ongoing readiness to travel and relocate to meet short and long term organizational requirements.

Minimum Requirements include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited University, preferably in Business Management or Administration, although other disciplines will be considered (e.g. Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management), or seven years relevant work experience in the military or private sector. An emphasis in logistics, transportation or business experience is highly desired.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.

Important Notice: Friends, family, individuals, or organizations may be interested to learn that you are an applicant for or an employee of the CIA. Their interest, however, may not be benign or in your best interest. You cannot control whom they would tell. We therefore ask you to exercise discretion and good judgment in disclosing your interest in a position with the Agency. You will receive further guidance on this topic as you proceed through your CIA employment processing.
