Health Effects
|
|
From MSDS
Caution: Persons with pre-existing impaired respiratory function may be more susceptible to the effects of this product. Always use aerosol products in a well ventilated area.
Inhalation: No effects are listed in the manufacturer's Material Safety Data Sheet. However, aerosol mists contain a small percentage of easily inhaled fine particles that can cause immediate injury to lung tissue, as well as be absorbed into the bloodstream. Aerosol products in general are not recommended.
Inhaling vapors of hydrocarbon propellants may produce simple asphyxia with symptoms such as dizziness, disorientation, headache, excitation, central nervous system depression, and anesthesia. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents of an aerosol can be harmful or fatal. A case of ventricular tachycardia in a well child has been associated with accidental exposure to isobutane, n-butane, and propane via an aerosol deodorant (JAMA 1986;256:78-80).
Skin Contact: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause mild skin irritation.
Eye Contact: May cause mild eye irritation.
Ingestion: No effects are listed in the manufacturer's Material Safety Data Sheet. May be harmful or fatal if swallowed.
