Introduction and Objectives
In this lesson we will cover the epidemiology and public health
interventions we will undertake, should a bioterror attack using
plague occur. At the end of this lesson you should be able to:
- List the principal purposes of epidemiological investigations.
- Describe the case definitions for plague.
- Describe sentinel events that could indicate a bio-terrorist
attack using plague.
- Describe the public health response necessary for natural
plague.
- Describe the public health response necessary for a bioterrorist
attack using plague.
- Discuss the management of contacts to plague cases.
- Describe the prophylaxis of contacts to plague cases.
