Description of Job Duty Competency to be Achieved

Maintain an informed, efficient and productive workforce.


Description of Need

Effective supervision is critical to maintain peak office performance.


Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Give on-the-job training and counseling.

2. Appraise performance objectively and conduct regular, constructive performance reviews.

3. Set realistic goals and standards and define performance requirements.

4. Conduct selection interviews and review applications to make sound hiring decisions.

5. Assign work and delegate tasks to accomplish the goals of the organization.

6. Delegate work assignments to maximize the utilization of resources and optimize the varying workforce skills.

7. Identify and develop individual development and training plans for staff.

8. Take disciplinary action.

9. Employee recognition.

10. Staffing analysis and recruitment.

11. Exhibit professional and businesslike behavior.
