Description of Job Duty Competency to be Achieved

Understand statistical models such as Statistical Water Supply (SWS) Procedures and how to prepare them for execution (particularly data inputs) to produce extended-range forecasts.


Description of Need

RFCs have a requirement to routinely provide extended-range forecasts that can be met using statistical models such as SWS. The hydrologist must perform all needed tasks to prepare and quality control the input data.


Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Understand source of input data input data for statistical models and know how to gather it when necessary.

2. Be able to gather and quality control input data for statistical models.


Instructional Components

Instructional Component 6.1: - Regional Workshop: Statistical Water Supply Forecasting. At periodically held regional workshops, quality control programs such as Monthly_QC will be described and demonstrated.
