Ability to implement/manage telecommunications systems and diagnose/resolve communications problems on analog and digital services.

Description of Need

To maintain reliable communications connectivity in support of NWS requirements.

Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Understand analog and digital communications technology.

2. Install and configure routers, bridges, and similar devices.

3. Install and troubleshoot CSU/DSUs, Modems, and similar devices.

4. Install and troubleshoot lines and circuits in accordance with telecommunications industry standards.

5. Ability to design, identify and document comms room configuration.
