Description of Job Duty Competency to be Achieved

Demonstrate the ability to administer upper air program functions.


Description of Need

Must possess the skills and understanding of the requirements necessary to perform the functions of this program.


Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Demonstrate the ability to accurately prepare upper-air related correspondence and reports.

2. Demonstrate the ability to prepare management information system reports.

3. Draft operating instructions and procedures.

4. Conduct inspection program for supervised sites in accordance with NWS procedures.

5. Property accountability and responsibility.

6. Plan and schedule work assignments.

7. Plan and conduct product improvement programs.

8. Plan and perform self-inspections.

9. Site survey practices and procedures.

10. Act as COTR for contract locations.

11. Safety:

  • Ensure safe operating procedures are followed
  • Safety procedures for the safe use of Hydrogen
  • Building and equipment safety checks
