Lacey, Wash. -- In less than one week since a federally declared disaster was declared for Washington, $2.75 million in federal Individual Assistance has been approved. In Lewis and Grays Harbor counties, designated on Dec. 9, more than 3,400 families or individuals have already registered for assistance. Another 319 residents from undesignated counties have applied making the total more than 3,700 at close of business Dec. 14.

Residents and small business owners in the two counties who suffered damage from the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides are encouraged to apply for assistance by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s toll-free number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) Monday through Sunday until further notice.
