Salem, OR -- The Seattle Federal Executive Board is hosting a Federal Government Career Fair on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Renton WorkSource Office, 919 SW Grady Way, in Renton. Recruiters from two-dozen federal agencies ranging from the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the U.S. Border Patrol to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be available to explain their programs and answer questions. According to FAA Regional Administrator and SFEB Chair Larry Andrieson, the all-day career fair is an excellent opportunity for those interested in entering federal service.

"This fair features special seminars on how to research and apply for Federal jobs, effective application methods, and even tips on interview techniques," said Andriesen. "Recruiters are after both entry-level as well as advanced positions over a large spectrum of specialties."

FEMA Regional Director John Pennington agrees. "Procedures for learning about, and applying for agency vacancies have been streamlined in recent years, but may still seem a bit daunting to new applicants. Career fairs help remove the mystery," said Pennington. "Our booth will include information on career opportunities with FEMA, and explain our Disaster Assistance Employee (DAE) or 'reservist' program."
