More than 2000 representatives from Project Impact communities from across the nation will meet in Washington, D.C. December 12-16, 1999 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel to attend the Federal Emergency Management Agency Project Impact: Building Disaster Resistant Communities Summit 1999. This second annual Project Impact Summit has built on last year's ambitious goals, and targets educators, administrators, managers, non-profit/voluntary organizations, business leaders and elected and appointed officials from virtually every level of government. According to FEMA regional director David L. de Courcy, this year's events include a special Project Impact Partner Trade Show, featuring the goods, services and participation of small businesses, service providers, and regional corporate partners.

"We expect over 100 exhibitors at the Wednesday, December 15 Project Impact Summit Partner Trade Show," said de Courcy. "This Summit showcases locally-driven initiatives that go way beyond traditional emergency management in encouraging and enhancing effective stakeholder partnerships. Prevention is not just good common sense; it's good business sense."

Project Impact Summit '99 Partner Tradeshow registration is open until November 22, 1999. For details call the Summit Hotline (301) 650-7406.
