Non-resident tuition forgiveness and assistance in establishing paid internships at government and nonprofit organizations in southern Arizona and in Mexico border area. Practicum on the scholarship of engagement is available to all Fellows.
Description
The University of Arizona is a land grant and a Research I institution, highly regarded for its graduate interdisciplinary programs. The Fellows program is available in a variety of accredited programs with a strong applied research and outreach component. The UA is developing a scholarship of engagement initiative, and has been awarded a HUD Community Development Work Study grant in Planning and Public Administration. Many internship opportunities are available in organizations that serve Hispanic and Native American communities. Requirements
Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the University of Arizona and the academic program. Fluency in Spanish is necessary in some internships. Applicants are encouraged to file FAFSA forms.
