National Park Foundation
The National Park Foundation (NPF) was chartered by Congress in 1967 to raise private support for National Parks, and to further the conservation of natural, scenic, historic, scientific, educational, inspirational, or recreational resources for future generations of Americans.
National Forest Foundation
The National Forest Foundation was created in 1990, by the United States Congress, to serve as the official nonprofit partner of the USDA Forest Service. They are charged with: accepting and administering private contributions; undertaking activities that further the purposes for which the National Forest System was established; and conducting educational, technical, and other activities that support the multiple use, research, and forestry programs administered by the Forest Service.
Sonoran Institute
As a nonprofit organization, the Sonoran Institute has helped communities learn the tools to conserve and restore more than 200,000 acres of public and private lands, leveraged more than $42 million for open-space protection, and established more than a dozen diverse organizations dedicated to local conservation efforts.

The folks at the Sonoran Institute produced the Partnership Beyond Public Lands Website. This is an excellent resource that exists to share information and tools available to public land managers seeking partnerships with neighboring communities.
Association of Partners for Public Lands
The Association of Partners for Public Lands, through education, information, and representation, enhances the potential of its members--the cooperating and interpretive associations and friends groups--to provide the highest levels of program and service to public agencies entrusted with the care of America's natural and cultural heritage.
Partners in Parks
Partners in Parks is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting research and preservation programs in national parks across the country. Partners in Parks brings talented people to national parks as volunteers and interns. They conduct research, provide technical assistance and help preserve natural and cultural treasures through partnerships with parks in habitat restoration, pollution and stormwater control in major watersheds, inventory and monitoring and battlefields and archeology.
Community and Ecosystem Stewardship
A southwest Colorado partnership which brings together federal land managers, area citizens, college professors, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and local governments to learn how to become better stewards of public lands and natural resources associated with them. This site explores the many aspects of Community-Public Lands Stewardship and Forest Planning with many helpful links.
University of Michigan Collaboration Website
This site emphasizes that collaboration enables the solving of problems that one agency, landowner, scientist or group cannot solve alone, and has proven to be a critical element of ecosystem management. Ecosystem management uses an ecosystem-based approach to resource management in order to address the myriad challenges that arise from fragmented landscapes and diverse management strategies.
Sustainable Communities Network
This site was created to identify quality resources on sustainability and to disseminate them in a timely way to the public. Topics addressed at this site include: Creating community, Smart growth, Growing a Sustainable Economy, Protecting natural resources, and Governing and Living sustainably.
International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA)
Founded in 1988, the International Mountain Bicycling Association is a nonprofit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trail work, cooperation among different types of trail users and innovative trail management solutions.
In May 2005, IMBA and the National Park Service signed a five-year partnership agreement to bring mountain bikers and park officials together to develop models for future collaboration. IMBA provides technical and volunteer assistance to National Park units that are interested in improving their off-road cycling opportunities. Support is provided each year through three pilot projects and nine Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew trail visits, where experts advise on trail etiquette and rider education, managing mountain bikes, trail building and repair.
