2008 Annual Report to the Community

Environmental Justice Strategy
The District Governing Board adopted the Environmental Justice Strategy on August 16, 2007. This comprehensive policy will serve as a roadmap by which the District will be guided in integrating Environmental Justice principles and augmenting the steps already taken by the District in reaching out to the community. The policy is available in English and Spanish

As part of this strategy, the District is currently seeking candidates to fill open positions for the Tulare County seat and two ethnic small-business owners on the 13-member Environmental Justice Advisory Group (EJAG). Interested individuals must submit an EJAG application. The EJAG will work to collaboratively educate the public and community stakeholders about current District activities and air quality in general, and will review overarching District programs and strategies to provide feedback.

For additional information on the policy please contact Maricela Velasquez at (559) 230-5849 or Claudia Encinas at (559) 230-5851.
